James F. Chmiel, MD
Over the past decade, ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist Dr. James Frank Chmiel has built a reputation for being a reliable source of information in his field for patients in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area of New York.
Board-certified to practice medicine in the State of New York, Dr. James Chmiel recently offered insights on nosebleeds and how to treat them at home for the Buffalo News. In addition, Dr. Chmiel has taught students on the principles of otolaryngology as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where he earned his medical degree in 1994.
Beyond his work in teaching the public on ENT conditions, Dr. James Chmiel treats patients in private practice at Amherst ENT LLC in the Northwoods Medical Center. A respected physician, he was recognized by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. as a Top Doctor in 2011. In the surgical arena, he serves as a Medical Director for the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York, a facility that treats patients from multiple surgical specialties in addition to otolaryngology.
Dr. Chmiel holds staff appointments at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Sisters of Charity Hospital, and Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. His professional memberships include the American Board of Otolaryngology, the Buffalo Otolaryngological Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and a peer review committee with a local insurance company.

Gregg L. Zimmer, MD
Dr. Gregg Zimmer received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he earned his medical degree. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at SUNY Health Science Center and a fellowship from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
He has been practicing Otolaryngology for over 20 years and is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and he is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Zimmer practices all aspects of general Otolaryngology and cares for adult and pediatric patients. He has special expertise in treating sinus disorders and specializes in endoscopic sinus surgery.
